I take my life as a journey with road blocks and detours. Soon I will find my way…
-Tamika Keener
Founder
Tamika is a nine year lupus survivor. She is a native of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Tamika was diagnosed with lupus after being discharged from the United States Air Force in 2012. Looking for comfort and answers, she decided to form a lupus support group along with four other ladies ( Shemeka, Shaquita, Jessicia, Shala). The support group later formed an entire organization. She also supports the Lupus Foundation of Arkansas, Inc. by volunteering and assisting with its programs to advocate, educate, offer support, and raise funds for research. Tamika believes that the importance of lupus awareness is education. Individuals with lupus must educate themselves to survive. The most important thing she wants people to know is that it’s unpredictable, but you can live with lupus. You can fight this disease and this organization is here for support.
